Social networks are a way of life for many of us. It is no longer a case of should I use social media but with so many different platforms to choose from, which one should you use?
Well, they all differ and can be used in many different ways. Below we have outlined the many uses of each one, in order to inform your decision on which one, or maybe all, to use.
Around 70% of adults use Facebook daily and it has 1.65 billion monthly active users, hence it being named the largest social network. It is used equally for both business and personal use. It is the place to go to share photos, updates and general news. People will go to a business page of a company to see what that company has going on and to get more details about it.
If you use Facebook Advertising, then you are more likely to bring in strong leads that are already looking for your services. It ensures that the budget you set on the social network isn’t wasted on those that aren’t interested in your services already.
Back when it was created in 2006, it is unfathomable that it would eventually generate 175 million tweets daily and allows you to tweet snippets of your life. However, Twitter is a quick response social network, one that requires constant attention to make leads out of. If you cannot generate the time to do this, then scheduling and the use of relevant hashtags would prove useful.
Reach a wider audience and extend the life of your tweet by using hashtags, especially those that are trending. Use Twitter to engage in conversation with prospective leads. Twitter proves additionally useful for retailers, as it is a quick way to deliver great customer service to current and prospective leads.
Snapchat
An instant social media platform that keeps growing in strength. Now everything from news stories, celebrities whereabouts and even the latest make-up launch is shared on this platform. The usage has grown to 100 million users around the world and 71% of its users are between 18 and 34.
Snapchat can be used to offer teasers, as well as promotions, story-telling, showing the fun aspect of a company, they can be fast and memorable and allow you to interact. Filters also allow for a business to personalise its experience on the mobile app.
LinkedIn is the most professional of the social platforms, as it was primarily designed for business and professionals. It has 300 million users and allows users to share experiences and CVs, without having to singlehandedly show them. LinkedIn proves useful for job searching and for sharing links, experiences, articles and communities.
It proves valuable for recruiting but for company pages too. This social network allows you to filter by age, location, occupation and even skills. The more connections you make, the more people are likely to see your updates.
